Therapeutic Classroom (TC)

Offered in partnership with school districts or agencies, TCs serve students from Pre-K through high school with severe behavioral problems related to mental health issues. TCs are established in district based schools or settings.

TCs help students deal with their challenges through:

  • Targeted therapy.
  • Retraining.
  • Family involvement.
  • Intense academic support.
  • Referrals for continued service.

The classroom provides a comprehensive treatment program that addresses the behavioral and mental health needs of students while implementing their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

WHY IT WORKS

TCs are staffed for success, with employees who are deeply committed and are experts in the areas of mental health and special education.

A Mental Health Supervisor and an Educational Supervisor provide oversight, administration, and act as liaisons between Familylinks and participating schools. A certified Special Education Classroom Teacher oversees the classroom program and implements the students' IEPs.
