Shelter Plus Care Program

Familylinks realizes that some people need support on an on-going basis. Shelter Plus Care Program provides permanent housing and case management services for people and families that are homeless and have disabilities, including mental health issues and/or substance abuse.

Federally funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Shelter Plus Care may subsidize up to 100% of rent, depending on an individual's income.

WHY IT WORKS

Through the Shelter Plus Care and Rental Housing Assistance Programs, people and families with lower incomes are provided the opportunity to live in decent, well-maintained dwellings that are also sought by the general community. Living in housing among other people in a neighborhood helps to eliminate stigma and discrimination, and helps to ensure that individuals stay on the road to a brighter future.
