SC Admission Information
To take advantage of SC services, the individual or family must first register with the Allegheny County Office of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities (OMR/DD) at (412) 253-1250. If they meet the criteria for mental retardation, they have the option of selecting Familylinks as their desired provider for supports coordination services.
Supports Coordination (SC)
For children and adults who have been diagnosed with mental retardation, SC is a well-known and well-respected program that helps with locating, coordinating and monitoring services that improve the quality of their lives.
Our Supports Coordination unit helps to refer individuals and families to:
- Home and community-based services.
- Specialized therapies (i.e. physical, behavioral, speech).
- Respite services.
- Residential services.
- Employment services.
- Adult day programs, including pre-vocational programming and adult training facilities.
- Senior citizen day programs.
- Transportation services.
- Environmental accessibility adaptations.

In fact, our SC unit is the largest provider of Supports Coordination in Allegheny County. This highly professional and compassionate staff currently helps approximately 3,000 children, adults and their families.
